Fivestory New York

Opening on April 18th in a town house in NYC,  Fivestory is already being dubbed as New York's version of Colette. The brainchild of former gallerist Claire Distenfeld, the shop will feature a selection of international designers never sold before in the US and exclusive collaborations with New York based companies. 18 East 69th Street, NYC

Gerhard Richter Painting

If I could own a painting from any living artist it would be one of Gerhard Richter's works. That said, I am looking forward to seeing the new documentary film entitled Gerhard Richter Painting. He gave filmmaker Corinna Belz access to his studio for 2 years. From the reviews it sounds like she captured an amazing dialogue between the artist and his materials, thought process and working methods. The film is now playing in theaters nationwide.

The Yoga Room

My 4 year old daughter just started taking classes at a fantastic new yoga studio in Charleston called The Yoga Room. It is located in an old savings bank and the studio space is just spectacular! Architectural Digest Home Show-O'Lampia

The Architectural Digest Home Show in NYC this past week was one of the best I have ever attended. I think a lot of that can be attributed to Margaret Russell's influence as the new editor in chief.

Nest Studio Hardware

I love this new line of rock crystal and metal cabinet hardware from Nest Studio Hardware. I like how it has both a modern and Art Deco feel at the same time.

The NoMad Hotel

I am looking forward to checking out the newly opened NoMad Hotel, located in the Flatiron District in NYC.  The hotel is in a turn of the century Beaux-Arts building with interiors by Jacques Garcia.  The rooms were designed to have a timeless residential feel about them. Cuba has always been on my list of places to visit, not only because of its rich culture but also for its amazing architectural history. I am so inspired by these beautiful photos from Hermes Mallea's book The Great Houses of Havana.
