Turner Monet Twombly

If you are making a trip to London for the Olympic games it is worth visiting Tate Liverpool to view their exhibit Turner, Monet, Twombly: Later Paintings.  They have brought together works by J.M.W. Turner (1775-1851), Claude Monet (1840-1926) and Cy Twombly (1928-2011), three of the most well known and prolific artists in history. Though the connection between the trio is not  immediately evident they all share common characteristics and motivations including inspiration from landscapes and a fascination with light.  On June 22-October 28 2012.

Cy Twombly at the Gagosian

The art world lost one of its greats when Cy Twombly past away last July. However, I am glad to hear that his last works will be on display at the Gagosian Gallery in LA April 27-July 9. Gagosian Gallery, 456 North Camden Drive, Beverly Hills, CA 90210
