West Village Townhouse

I am inspired by this serene West Village townhouse done for Kiefer Sutherland by SR Gambrel. The restrained color palette and mix of organic materials gives the house an understated elegance. It is hard to tell whether the Gothic arches were original to the architecture but they are a nice twist on the typical Greek Revival brownstone.

Pantone 2013

It looks like Pantone and I are on the same page, as they recently named Emerald Green the color of the year for 2013. They describe the hue as "a color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony,"

Here are some more inspiring emerald images from the world of fashion, art & interiors:

Emerald Green

Emerald green is one of my favorite fall/winter colors. It is sophisticated, classic, and has tremendous depth and versatility. Whether used as a wall color, or as an accent in a room, it works with just about every color you pair it with.  I especially love how it plays off black and white.

Black & White Entry

A black & white entry floor is always timeless and classic. Whether done in honed or polished, diamond or checks it is the perfect way to make a good first impression. Here are some standouts:
